soft curls, eyes half lined with kajal, not kohl. kajal from a small coin sized dibbi, you had to really be willing to apply kajal those days to smear the tip of your finger with the deep blackness of the kajal in those plastic containers. the blackness, darkness of it just wouldnt leave you no matter what.. it would stain your white frock or the white school shirt. the helm of the grey school skirt, smudged dark because of the kajal smears. that kajal i talk about. not the simple, elite, soluble, unwashable, dheeth kajals we get in the market these days. these ones are priced somewhre about 200rs or so, those dibbis, i dont remember or even know their price. maa bought them for me from a mela outside the temple always. or maybe she got a dibbi in the mandir ka prasad, which has now become a "hamper" or "bouquet".
